Ukraine on Tuesday launched long-range missile strikes on Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk port, Kyiv Post reported.
The strike launched with domestically-made R-360 cruise Neptun missile and covering over 750 kilometers is believed to be the largest-ranged conventional missile strike conducted by Ukrainian army since the start of the war in 2022, according to Kyiv Post.
The missile battery based in Ukraine’s Odessa region, launched missile initially flying south, veering west of Crimea before turning east to target the main base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, according to official Russian reports.
Local authorities reportedly issued an air raid following the attack. During the attack, several Russian warships docked in Novorossiysk were at sea, Ukrainian navy said in a statement.
Located in Russia’s Black Sea coast, Novorossiysk is the main port of Russia’s Black Sea fleet.
Ukraine launched 447 drones and missiles across Russia on the night leading to Wednesday, in what became the largest long-range missile attack since Russia’s full-fledged invasion three years ago.
