Zelenskiy says Ukraine negotiating three key documents to end war with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday Kyiv had drafted three documents as part of revised proposals to be shared with US leader Donald Trump’s administration amid effort the intensified efforts to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.

“There are three documents. We are discussing them with the Americans and the Europeans. There is a 20-point framework document. It is constantly evolving, and that’s normal. It is a living structure that must reflect the interests of Ukraine, Europe, and the world,” Zelenskiy said in a press briefing. He said the second document related to security guarantees. The third document concerns Ukraine’s post-war economic recovery, Zelenskiy said, without providing more detail.

Zelenskiy said he was awaiting relevant proposals from the Ukrainian military and their dialogue with the Americans. “All of this needs to be aligned with the principles of the Coalition of the Willing. It’s difficult to go into detail, but you will see it in due course. Security guarantees are an important document between us and the United States, and between us and the Europeans,” he stressed.

A US-drafted 28-point leaked to media in late November. The original plan caters to Russia’s maximalist demands.
