Ukrainian Forces have destroyed a military base storing Iranian-produced Shaheed kamikaze drones in eastern Donetsk region, amid intensified attacks on Russian military facilities.
“The base for storing, equipping, and launching Shaheeds –Donetsk airport – no longer exists,” Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, USF, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi reported on Thursday. Posting in Telegram post, Brovdi revealed that the operation was carried out jointly with Ukraine's Special Operation Forces, SSO, after months of reconnaissance. It involved missile troops and artillery, and the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems – “Birds of the Madyar.”
“Developing this complex target took painstaking work over several months, assembled from small pieces. Last night, it was executed with the appropriate strike assets of the SSO and missile troops," Brovdi said.
The General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the strike on the Shaheed drones' base at Donetsk airport, stating that multiple blasts and secondary detonations were recorded at the site. According to reports in Telegram channels, the attack involved drones and missiles. According to Spy Dossier Telegram channel, reported that the attack destroyed an ammunition depot, a drone pre-launch processing facility, a fuel storage, while damaging communications and power units.
