Ukraine will sign new defence agreements with Baltic and Nordic countries next week to boost Kyiv’s defences in the war against Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Saturday.
"We are working very actively to guarantee that our Defense Forces are fully equipped with everything they need. Weapons - both production and supplies, financial support, training - for every need, we are developing new agreements with our partners," Zelenskiy said in an nightly addressed published in president’s official website.
The Ukrainian leader stressed that Kyiv was actively engaging in work to toughen sanctions against Russia to ensure that Kremlin is forced into peace.
Speaking about Ukraine’s other Western allies, Zelenskiy reminded agreements with Germany on investments in Ukraine’s weapons production.
“The Netherlands is working on supplying F-16s. The United Kingdom is directing proceeds from frozen Russian assets specifically for weapons and equipment repairs for Ukraine. Altogether, this amounts to billions of dollars strengthening the defense of our state and strengthening our people," Zelensky went on saying.
Moreover, Zelenskiy revealed Kyiv was filing agendas for the G7 and NATO summits, which will take place soon.
