The General Staff of Ukrainain Armed Forces on Wednesday confirmed an attack on an oil depot in Russia’s Tambov region. As a result of the attack, several feul tanks caught fire. Ukrainian Forces also struck a Russian technical observation post on the MSP-4 offshore stationary platform in the Black Sea.
Preliminary information suggests that the Russian drone unit was eliminated and the surface-monitoring radar on the Sivash self-elevating floating drilling platform sustained damage.
The General Staff also reported that on Dec. 2, Ukrainian forces used strike drones to hit the Livny oil depot in Russia’s Oryol Oblast, igniting two RV-5000 fuel tanks. In addition, during the Nov. 27 attack on the Saky airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea, Defense Forces destroyed three Orion reconnaissance-strike drones, each valued at roughly $5 million.
Earlier, Tambov Oblast Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said drones struck the region’s oil depot during the night of Dec. 3, causing a fire at the site of impact.
The Russian Telegram channel ASTRA, quoting local residents, reported that drones also hit the Livny oil depot in Oryol Oblast overnight on Dec. 2. Oryol Governor Andrey Klychkov confirmed the region had been targeted by drones, sparking a fire at “fuel and energy complex facilities” in the Livny district.
