Ukrainian forces struck Russia’s MiG-29 fighter jet and a radar system in Russian-annexed Crimea Peninsula in an operation on Thursday.
The Defence Inteligence of Ukraine, known as HUR, reported that its Ghost elite fithers have struck MiG-29 fighter jet during an attack on the territory of the Kacha military airfield
in the peninsula and shared video footage of the attack. In a separate operation, Ghosts targeted the Irtysh airfield radar complex near temporarily occupied Simferopol.
In its statement on Facebook, the HUR said its forces would carry out further attacks aimed at undermining Russia’s air defence systems, including radars, anti-aircraft systems and Russian fighter jets, over Crime Peninsula. Earlier, on Monday Defence Intelligence forces destroyed a Russian Chayka amphibious aircraft.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 170 combat engagements with Russian troops on December 4, that included three Russian missile strikes and 62 airstrikes, 177 guided bombs. In addition, Russian forces alco carried out 4,301 shelling attacks, including 121 with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and deployed 5,251 kamikaze drones, the General Staff reported.
