Russia pounded Ukraine with barrage of missiles and drones on Friday, killing at least three people and injuring 22 others in southern Kherson region.
The attack took place at 7:30 and damaged civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and private houses. Overall, Ukrainian Air Forces intercepted 72 out of 128 strike and decoy drones fired by Russia overnight. Some 47 drones reached their targets. “Explosions in the capital. The city is under ballistic attack,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram during the attack. Video footage capturing the Russian strikes and the aftermath of the onslaught was shared in local Telegram channels. The video showed a 9-storey building and several houses around it with debris lying all around.
Two people were killed and seven wounded Dnipropetrovsk region apartment buildings, private homes, an outbuilding, a shop and at least one vehicle were damaged in the strikes, acting governor Vladyslav Haivanenko said.
Across the border, the Russian Defence Ministry said its air defences downed 121 Ukrainian drones over the country overnight.
