Russia launched thousands of drones, glide bombs across Ukraine over past week

Russia launched 1,300 drones, up to 1,200 glide bombs, and nine missiles of various types across the territory of Ukraine over the past week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed on Sunday.

Posting on his official Facebook page, Zelenskiy said Odesa region and our south were hit particularly hard, adding that “our services continue their work to restore normal life in the regions."

He emphasized that Ukraine is resisting Russian terror on multiple fronts. Notably, this week brought a key decision on Ukraine’s financial security, with the European Council approving a €90 billion allocation for 2026–2027. In addition, substantial assistance was announced by Norway and Japan, and an agreement was reached with Portugal to jointly produce maritime drones.

"Negotiating teams from Ukraine and the United States continue their work on pathways to end this war with a dignified peace. And our long-range sanctions against Russia are also working as required. The aggressor must understand that war brings no dividends and always returns to where it came from," Zelenskiy stressed.

The fighting across Ukraine remains intense, with hundreds of combat engagements reported daily along multiple front-line sectors. Ukraine’s General Staff regularly documents large numbers of clashes, heavy Russian shelling, and extensive use of aerial bombs, artillery, and “kamikaze” drones in efforts to break Ukrainian defensive lines, particularly around Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Siversk, and the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions. Ukrainian forces are mounting determined resistance and have repelled many assaults, but Russian forces continue to apply pressure and conduct frequent attacks on both military positions and civilian areas.
