At only 13 approval rate, Prime Minister Pashinyan is Armenia’s most trusted politician

 new survey conducted in Armenia in June 2025, suggest that Nikol Pashinyan is the most trusted politician in the country with 13% of respondents saying they trust the prime minister. The figure marked a drop from 16% one year earlier. Some 42% of respondents said that Pashinyan’s government had achieved nothing during this period.

By contrast, the approval rating of former President Robert Kohcaryan doubled since September 2024, when only 2% of respondents expressed confidence in him. According to the recent poll by the International Republican Institute (IRI),the approval rating of former President Robert Kocharyan is presently 4%. Other person in the list is Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan who ranks second with 5%. The approval rating of Armenia’s ruling party, Civil Contract, has also decreased from 20% in September 2024 to 17%, according to the IRI poll. Overall, a staggering 61% of respondents said they do not trust any Armenian politician.

Furthermore, the poll results suggest that Armenians place greatest trust in the country’s Armed Forces and the church. In terms of Armenia’s political course, the survey suggests 49% of Armenians believe the country is heading to the wrong direction. Only 36% respondents believe Armenia is on the right path compared to 46% in September 2024 and 50% in December 2023. It’s noteworthy that older citizens are more optimistic that younger and middle-aged citizens when it comes to the future of the country.

Responding to the ongoing peace negotiations with Azerbaijan, 47% of respondents expressed support for signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. As to Armenia’s EU path, 49% of respondents said they would vote in favour of Armenia joining the European Union if a referendum were held next Sunday.
