Ukraine strikes Russian command post, strategic facilities

Ukraine struck a drone control point in Russia’s Belgorod region and a number of Russian military facilities, including those in occupied Ukrainian territories on the night leading to March, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Friday.

The targets that were struck included an ammunition storage facility near the temporarily occupied city of Berdiansk in the Donetsk region; an ammunition unloading location in the temporarily occupied settlement of Hvardiiske in Crimea; logistics and equipment warehouses in the temporarily occupied cities of Berdiansk and Shevchenkivske in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as in Pryazovske in the Donetsk region; a fuel and lubricants storage site near the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region; a command and observation position near Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region; and a communications tower in the temporarily occupied city of Prymorsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In a separate report, the General Staff confirmed the damage to two Russian warships in the Black Sea - the frigates Admiral Essen and Admiral Makaro. The warships that belong to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet were struck in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region on March 2.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited troops in Konstiantynivka city eastern Donetsk region on Friday. During the visit, Zelensky stated that troops from the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade are holding the defense of Kostiantynivka against attacks coming from the directions of Pleshchiivka and Ivanopilia. He noted that he visited the brigade’s main command post today, where he met with the soldiers and discussed the operational situation in their sector as well as the unit’s needs. Zelensky added that the issues raised during the meeting will be addressed.
