The Russian army has lost 1,239.590 military personnel killed or injured since the start of the full-fledged invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, with over 880 servicemen killed over the past day, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Sunday.
Apart from heavy losses among personnel, Russia also suffered losses in terms of weaponry and military equipment. Thus, Ukrainian troops have put out of operation 11,619 tanks, 36,768 artillery systems, 23,977 weaponries belonging to the Russian army in the past four years, the General Staff revealed in its report on February 1.
The agency also gave an update on the clashes on the frontline. According to General Staff, 44 combat clashes occurred on the frontline in the past 24 hours, with most intense fighting recording in embattled Pokrovsk in Donetsk region and Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region – the two sectors of the frontline that remains among the most intense in the ongoing war, with heavy combats and frequent clashes. Attacks were also launched from Russian territory on populated areas in Senkovka in Chernihiv region, Brusky, Rohizne, Bachivsk, Neskuchne, Kucherivka, Bezsalivka, Malushyne, Ryzivka in Sumy region.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces tried to push toward Ukrainian positions near Zakytne, but the assault was successfully beaten back.
No offensive activity was recorded by the enemy in the Kramatorsk sector.
In the Kostyantynivka area, Russian troops launched six attacks near Kostyantynivka, Stepanivka, Yablunivka, and Sofiivka. Fighting continues in one location.
Along the Pokrovsk axis, Russian forces have attempted 17 times since the start of the day to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Dachne, as well as in the directions of Vilne and Serhiivka. Ukrainian defenders are containing the assault and have already repelled 15 of these attacks.
In the Oleksandrivskyi sector, the enemy carried out a single attack in the area of Verbove.
